SMPP

The SMPP (Short Message peer-to-peer) protocol is intended for the exchange of SMS messages between external short message entities (ESME) and forwarding entities (RE) and message centres (MC). It is used to enable the sending and receiving of messages by content providers, advertisers, telemetry services, e-mail, voicemail, among many other SMS-based applications and services.
