Why am I not receiving my campaign email previews?
Last update: 13-02-2025In Acrelia News you can send yourself a preview of the campaign by email before its final delivery to make sure everything is correct. This option appears at the bottom of the campaign editor.
If you do not receive the email preview of the campaigns it can be due to different reasons:
- It can happen that your message is marked as spam due to the corporate anti-spam filters and firewalls of your company's server. Corporate anti-spam firewalls can be particularly strict with test messages. Ask your company's IT department to whitelist the Acrelia News server.
- Corporate email clients also tend to mark as spam emails where the sender and recipient addresses are the same. We advise you to send test messages to free email addresses such as Gmail or Hotmail.
- Do not use words such as 'test' or 'testing' in the subject line as these can trigger spam filters. Do not use Latin or greek ('Lorem Ipsum') text either, as these also contribute to your message being categorised as unwanted. The text you use in your campaigns, even if it is a test, should be as similar as possible to the real content.
- It is highly recommended that in addition to sending the preview email to your business email address, you also send it to your personal email addresses (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc...) to check if the problem occurs only in one email server or if it occurs in more than one.
Here are some best practices related to content management that can help you improve your delivery rate:
- Be careful when creating your links: Include a moderate number of links in your emails and avoid creating them with url shorteners. Do not use links formed from an IP address (such as https://178.131.210.1...).
- Do not abuse of images. Emails that only include images are often identified as spam by anti-spam filters. Try to balance textual content and images.
- Include the text version of your email. If your email is in HTML format, include an alternative text version as well. Try to ensure that the content of both versions have a high degree of overlap to avoid being considered spam.
- Control your language. Do not make abuse of capital letters in your messages or special symbols such as exclamations, percentages, currency symbols...
- Check, analyse and correct mistakes. Try to check the content of your message with a spam tool to detect and eliminate words that could be considered spam before sending your campaign.
Before sending a preview, don't forget to..:
- Check spam words with the anti-spam analyser: Always check your content with the anti-spam analyser before sending your preview to detect and replace problematic words. The Acrelia News anti-spam analyser checks that your campaigns are not likely to be considered spam and proposes corrective measures.
- Check links with the link checker: One of the most tedious tasks to do before sending is to check that there are no broken links in your newsletter and make sure that all links work. With just one click you can check if all the links in your campaign are working, both in their HTML and text version.
