How to create and use segments

Segments allow you to filter contacts in a contact list according to different criteria in order to send them a campaign.

Acrelia News allows you to segment your contact lists based on:

• The interaction of your subscribers.
  • Which users have opened / not opened any mailing or one in particular.
  • Which users have clicked on any link / have not clicked on any link of any mailing or a specific mailing.
  • Which users have / have not been sent any campaign or a specific campaign.
• The information (fields) available in the list.
  • Email
  • First name, last name, company...
• Being part of other segments (advanced segmentation).
• Groups (tags) assigned to your contacts
• Acceptance / non-acceptance of the GDPR (allows you to filter users who have previously been sent a campaign to accept the processing of their data).

The segmentation of these fields can be done according to different conditions:

• Is equal to / is not equal to a certain literal (text)
• Is larger than / is smaller than a certain numeric
• Contains / does not contain a certain literal
• Ends / does not end in a certain literal
• Is empty / Is not empty

Acrelia News allows you to create as many segments as you need and with as many conditions as you need, based on two types of matching:

• That all the indicated conditions are met (type "and").
• That any of the indicated conditions are met (type "or", one or any).

Within the same segment you can combine conditions by interaction and by custom fields, as many as you need.

How to create a segment

• Go to "Contacts" - "Segments".
• Click on the "Add" button
• Fill in the information requested on the screen.
  • The match type allows you to establish whether the contacts to be included in the segment must met all the criteria or if they met any of them is enough.
  • Your segment can be composed of one or more conditions. You can add or remove rules with the + and - buttons available to the right of each filter.
  • The "Preview" button allows you to see the list of contacts that meet the criteria you have set before saving the filter.

How to send to a segment of a list

• Click on "Campaigns" - "Send a campaign".
• Choose "segment of a list" under recipients.
• Select the corresponding segment
• Click next and finish configuring your mailing in the usual way.
